Owner Remarks

We have owned the Inn for some 17 years and have completely refurbished it both inside and out. When we bought the Fireside Inn it was very neglected and out dated. All the furniture has been replaced or repaired and the rooms redecorated and we have used many personal items to add character to the Inn. We have re-carpeted from top to bottom using high-grade “golf club” type quality carpeting and have it professionally cleaned twice a year. The bathrooms all have been updated with Jacuzzi tubs or spa showers, although the Sweethearts bathroom has an antique claw foot tub, reclaimed from a local house. The small dorm rooms have been remodeled and paneled with wood giving them an alpine lodge feel. We have replaced all the windows in the guest bedrooms and common areas with Anderson double glazed units. The indoor redwood hot tub is a great feature and we kept it but modernized it by putting in a stainless steel liner and state of the art filter system and new gas boiler. Heating wise, we have upgraded the forced air system with a computer controlled zoned system fired by a high efficiency natural gas furnace. In the guest sitting room we have put a log effect gas sealed fireplace. We have also added one to one of the guest rooms. We have completely remodeled the kitchen and the countertop with “butcher block” work surfaces, the Samsung French door extra deep refrigerator is excellent for all the food we need to store. In the owners’ area we have redecorated and installed two-sealed gas fireplaces, one in sitting room and the other in the bedroom. Outside we have landscaped the grounds and replaced the old wooden fence with a modern metal fence. The entire roof of the house has been replaced.

The nicest people in the world operate this gem in Breckenridge, CO. It's super clean. It's about a 5 minute walk to the Gondola. It's 2 blocks off of Main St. The location could not be better. The feel of the place is warm and comfortable. For the solo or group traveling to Breckenridge; this place works wonderfully. Afternoon tea with cake is a bonus that you must experience as well. You'll meet the most wonderful travelers from all over the world staying here as well.

The couple who own the inn are lovely. The breakfasts were delicious. We stayed in a suite with our 2 kids and had plenty of space. The free bus to the gondola (to ski area) stops right next to the inn. Highly recommend.

Amazing place and people. Couldn't have a better place to stay so close to the mountain.

I've stayed in a lot of hostels and this is by far my favorite! Such a cozy atmosphere, such a great group of people rotating in and out and Niki and Andy are amazing! The hot tub was awesome and it's only a two minute walk to main street and a five minute walk to the gondolas! I stayed for one week and will definitely be back next year!

Hiker's Paradise! I took a day off here while thru-hiking the Colorado Trail. This place has everything the trail-worn hiker needs. It is an easy walk to the bus stop to the trailhead and to restaurants, groceries and outfitters. Rooms are great, breakfast is hearty and they even do your laundry for you! Andy and Niki were wonderful and warm hosts who really understand the needs of a long distance hiker. They have great stories to tell and I loved their idiosyncratic decorating style. Last but not least, given that this is downtown Breckenridge and I stayed at the height of the summer season, the Fireside Inn is amazingly affordable. Don't miss it.

We loved this place. Every thing was just like we had hoped it would be. The room was nice. The TV and refrigerator worked great. The Inn is centrally located and every place is within walking distance. The owners are wonderful people and we loved their breakfast. We sat with other guests at the breakfast table and had some wonderful conversations together. The owners do a fantastic job and we really appreciate their efforts. We highly recommend this Inn to everyone. You won't be disappointed!
